You have no choice

We often have discussions at uni about how we would feel if someone were to rip off our design and call it their own. [...]

After looking in the archives of a site called pirated-sites.com (in only a quick 10 minute look I found four K10K.net copies and two ebay.co.uk copies) I must admit I don't think we have a choice, whether we mind or not the fact remains; if you have a good design it will be copied, and there is nothing you can do about it unless you happen to stumble across it on someone elses site. However, due to the size of the internet I think this is unlikely.

How do these people sleep at night? Not only are they stealing someone elses work they are copyrighting it too. I just feel sorry for unsuspecting companies that may have gone to an agency or web designer and are unknowingly using someone elses design. It just goes to show that these designers do slip through the net and unfortunately they make alot of money out of it too.

Maybe if we all kept an eye out for these ripped off designs and posted them on sites like pirated-sites.com we could in some way scare the culprits into finding a conscience.
